5.7 mercruiser i/o hesitating

Hi,<br />My 5.7 Mercruiser occassionally runs very rough then smooths out (it hasn't ever completely stalled but comes close). This seems to happen at all speeds. The boat/motor is a '95, it has 375 hrs. and has had regular maintenance. Is there anyway to find out if it is a fuel or electrical problem?<br /><br />Thanks!

water in gas. have you checked the filter/s?

sounds like my problem...started a post regarding a Merc 470. I'll let you know if I solve it...have heard of similar problems stemming from:<br /><br />- choke sticking<br />- carb problems (float hole, misadjusted, etc.)<br />- fuel pump/filter<br />- fuel pickup clogged<br />- ignition
