5.7 won't start most of the time

My 5.7 Mercruiser won't start reliably. Replaced key switch and slave solenoid and still doesn't even turn over- completely dead. Getting power to gauges, etc. I can start by shorting across slave solenoid terminals just fine. Ideas? Thanks!

I would check the voltage at the slave solenoid when you go to crank. then back to the switch. perhaps the cannon plug is loose?

I would start with the 10 pin cannon plug, then check your grounds

Yup- Bt Doctur nailed it- was the neutral switch. When I pull back slightly on the throttle lever it starts. I'll take it apart and adjust it or clean the contacts or something to fix it. Thanks guys!
