Does anyone have an easy way to remember the oil percentage to gas for the 50:1 ratio? Example would be that for every 1 gallon of gas, you add Blank oil? I know that it is 1 pint for every 6 gallons, but often it falls above or below the 6. I was hoping that someone might have a simple way of doing the math.

get a jug of two stroke & look at the label on the jug, they all have mixing instructions & ratios.
you could have asked that question on your previous post, try not to start new threads on the same subject in the future. ;)

Thanks Roscoe,

To Catfish1; Sorry about the question, but I did not have the question at the posting of the first one and since this was my first use of the system I would hope it is ok to make mistakes! :(

fireslayer, i understand. myself and everyone on this forum has made the same mistakes, i just wanted to let you know how it works.
if your tread is at the bottom of the page or even on a different page, you can ask a question or anything you want on it and it bumps it to the top of the opening page, so it will be viewed by everyone again.

shame on you! you are hereby sentenced to 8hrs of fishing in good weather!

Re: 50:1 Ratios

A couple simple things for you.
1. 50:1 is 1 pint of oil per 6 gals gas.

2. You can buy at most boating shops/marinas mixing bottles which have the measurements labeled on the side. Mine has all the oil ratios, and I just use the 50:1 scale, and it has gals of gas labeled on the side of the container. If I put in 7.5 gals, I just fill this container up to the 7.5 mark with oil (which will of course be just over 1 pint) and then I dump that much in the tank. Simple, for us simple minded folk!
I like this because I can buy my oil in large gallon containers and still measure accurately and conveniently.

Careful J.B doesn't make you walk the plank...

http://www.tohatsu.com/tech_info/oil_gas.html

Try here

You guys should go over to Metric.. :( 50:1 = 20m1 per litre or 200ml per 10 litre..
25 litre tank = 500ml No gallons here but 4.54 litre = 91ml
All in 10's It's real Easy... :D :D

You know that your gallon is 3.79l and ours is 4.54l. Just wondering who's getting the best deal on petrol ??? We pay @ 80c per litre.
$3.60 AUD Aust gallon. Just a bit of trivia

Re: 50:1 Ratios

Always works for U.S. units (may need a calculator):
There are 128 fl oz. in a U.S. Gallon
There are 16 fl oz. in a pint.
To figure out amount of oil for any amount of gasoline use (Gallons gas * 128)/50
Or, written out, just multiply the number of gallons of gas by 128, then divide the result by 50. For example, 6 gallons*128=768 oz gas. 768oz gas divide by 50 = 15.36 oz oil (round up to 16oz, which equals one pint).

Just cut out the little chart and put it in your wallet. Get a measuring container marked off in ounces. I never pour it right in from the bottle. Well, not my 2 stroke oil anyways... :D :D :D
