What is the correct way to determine if the 50 amp-circuit breaker is good or bad. It had a lot of salt water get on it. will this fuse prevent the electronic fuel injector's from working if it is gone? Hi and Low fuel pumps are fine and have spark. Volvo Penta 5.0gxi trying to get a scan tool in the mean time.

Re: 50 amp fuse

Get a DVM set to volts DC, with negative test lead on a good ground, check the voltage on BOTH terminals of the breaker

If no voltage on either one, you have problems before the breaker.
Voltage on only 1 terminal. and it won't reset, replace the breaker.
Voltage on both, the breaker is working.

This fuse will stop all power to the engine.

Salt water usually has that effect on electrical parts.

Re: 50 amp fuse

Cleaned up terminals on 50 amp circuit breaker and it is working fine now. Still no start. cranks over nice and can smell the gas probably flooding, so My next step is to look for more bad connections,so if you have any ideas send them this way. Thanks for your info. so far. Fuel pressure is fine 55psi high ,10 low side.

Hi Don I am going to revisit the spark issue. I read the seloc book and I am not really onboard with them. How would you suggest to check for spark. I checked the old conventional way teh way we used to check our cars back in the day with a screw driver in spark wire to a good grounded body and had spark, maybe not enough spark?? Thanks again for your help!!

Pull the coil wire out of the center of the distributor cap, hold the wire 3/8 to 1/2" away from a clean unpainted ground and crank the engine. Should get a blue white spark that snaps the gap easily. If it jumps that, then you can check the individual plug wires.
