I have a 1988 bayliner with a force 50 on it and it will crank just won’t start. I have changed spark plugs, put new fuel in it, I noticed the ac to dc bridge only has power to one prong out of the four could that be an issue?

Check for spark and fuel.
Pull the plugs and ground them, Run the starter and check for spark.
If you have spark then check for fuel in the carb.
Use a spray bottle with fuel mix 50:1 ratio and spray in to the carb while trying to start.

It would then cough.

Compression and spark tests??

There are test procedures at outboardignitiondotcom or cdiignition

Some history will also help??
Did it ever run?
You just get it?

You have a kill switch or lanyard?
Is it plugged in?

Levicase55, Do as both Jerry and Nordin suggested. Comp test will tell you a lot about your motor. Out of all of my outboards, my 50hp Force is the sweetest one! I really like them.

This carb. design looks well designed against carb fowling. I suggest installing an inline fuel shut off petcock valve, cutting off the fuel flow and letting the motor run the gas dry before putting her up for any storage. This way, if you suspect she won't start because of bad gas, you only drain the carb bowl and empty the fuel tank and skip the carb cleaning process. Without this I immediately suspect dirty carb on all no start issues and start there. Especially when you mentioned new fuel. An easy test to eliminate this is what Nordin mentioned. If it reacts different with the spray bottle or starts. You`re probably looking at a dirty carb.
