I am having trouble figuring out how my 1986 50 hp force coils should be wired up . I started off with only fire to one cylinder i took a test light to the back of the coils had power to one but not the other pulled the flywheel noticed i had a rubbed wire into a loose ground screw and a sheared key had fire from one of the coils but weak. I put it back together i have power to both coils now but no fire from either one I have one brown wire on the bottom coil and one blue and on the top I have one white and one blue but have voltage on all the wires and have a negative side and positive side of the coil

If you have a sheard key you need to fix that first. Sounds like the lobe is just spinning on crank. Next the blue wires are postive and the white and brown are negative. negative side colapses coil to fire coil. I would take plugs out, disconect battery. Get a ohm meter hook up one lead to ngative wire and one to motor for ground. Spin the crank by hand and watch your ohm readings it should go from infinte ohms or very high ohms to about 5 or less ohms. this is showing the negative ground signal to fire coil. if signal is good expect coils are bad. If bad siganl check gap on points and check to see if contacts are dirty. You can take a finger nail file to contact on points to clean them up. hope this helps/
