Hello All,
I've got a 1975 50 HP Johnson, it starts great!!!! And it also thanks to the help of people on this forum runs good to some extent. I can get going fine but it takes the engine a sec to get up to full power. It almost kinda coughs its way up to full power but once its going she really goes good! Plus when it idles sometimes it will almost die and if I just tap the Choke it will gain power and rev really high. Any ideas anyone? Other than that the motor runs good, and the carbs were cleaned. Plus it has a new fuel pump.
Thanks
Steve

Sounds like you still need to rebuild the carburetors by-the book, with new kits. Make sure that the gasket between the fuel pump and the engine is really airtight, along with the carburetor gaskets at the intake manifold .
