50 hp merc 1983 tilt & trim

my motor will not run on my tilt & trim on my 50 hp<br />merc outboard I think it is a 1983 classic 50 the number is OB370164 .my problem is the tilt motor quit working ,i've done all the test to tell it is the motor . I need to know how to get the <br />outbosrd up to to take the pump motor off. and how it comes off. thank you Guy

On the starboard side of the engine...down by the T+T there should be a recessed flathead plastic screw. Loosen this and pull the engine up by hand.<br /><br />TMD
