ok so I posted earlier and I could not figure out how to remove the thread cause I was way off so i started this one. So it turns out I have no spark on my 1994 force 50 hp. I ohm'd out the coil packs on the plug wire and came up with 902 on the top pack and 908 on the lower, there seems to voltage coming through as well when i turn over, and I have brand new plugs but no spark... Please help if you have any idea at all.

Are you grounding the plugs while you crank it over?

Re: 50 hp NO SPARK ahhhh

LOL yes they were grounded, but thanx Tator for the input its more than I got from any one else, So after hours of trouble shooting i have come a bit farther. I have check the DVA on the blue stator wires, and a red stator both tested out OK. the the rectifier seemed to ohm out kinda sketchy in ohm test mode but I dont have a diode setting on my multimeter. I have good connections one the battery and at the head, Good ground. The kill switch line did not effect the spark. Both coils Ohm out a 900 and that is to spec. The lower coil pack sparks, it was just to bright earlier to see that it was, the top one was not so to ensure that it wasn't the upper coil pack I connected the input on the lower coil to the top coil and sure enough the the top coil sparked. therefor the lower green and white wire coming from the switch box sparks the lower coil and the all green one is not triggering the top coil. Its a little odd though, the one pack that is sparking seems to be inconsistent as in its like it misses a spark once every thirty sparks or so, or I just cant see it, pretty sure its in consistent though. Otherwise I would have thought it would have ran on just one cylinder. So could it be a rectifier cause I can get a universal one at radio shack for five bucks vs the 300 for a new switch box. Or is it the switch box if there is no energy coming out of a wire on it ie the one to the upper coil pack.

Re: 50 hp NO SPARK ahhhh

hello Jerry thanks for the input, I have seen you post that link on others posts so I followed the trouble shooting guide, before i posted, however I have had no luck, I think my only option left is to pull the fly wheel, and examine stator and magnets, hey jerry i appreciate all the help i can get, but i am wondering if you saw my second post. Cause you asked if I swapped the coils but what I did was swap the power line in from the lower pack cause it was sparking to the upper coil and achieved spark on the upper coil. So only one of my lines are sparking, coil packs are good. if magnets where loose wouldn't that cause issues turning the fly wheel.

If a magnet has broken off, it won't generate enough voltage to the ignition system.
