I have a small 50 HP outboard that is early 2000's version. I live in S FL and it has sat since about March without being ran. Last time I took it out it ran great. Went to start it up the other day and it wont start.
I have checked the plugs which were all fouled. Havent changed them in a year so I changed them. Thought that might do it but it didnt. THere was some oil/brownish liquid in the cylinder where the plugs go, but not alot.
So i go to start it and it cranks but will not start. I choke it and then try it regular and it sounds like it wants to start but just wont fire up. I then give it throttle and it definitely wont start. That makes me think maybe the needle in the carb is bad and its flooding? Im not too good with engines, just have read alot. Can anyone share what they may think is wrong or how to get it to start?
Thanks in advance.
