50hp & 35hp

I was wondering if anybody could tell me about the 85 50hp Mercury an a 86 35hp Mercury,,,, I have a 50hp an wanting to put on a 35hp,,, An not sure if I have to change the shifter box an wires or if they will work with each other,,, Thanks,,,

Your box will work. But those 35's form the 85's were prone to many problems jest to let you know.

Oh Ok,, Thanks,,, So I should stay with the box for the 50hp or ya talking about staying away from the motors all together,,lol,, Thanks again,,,,
