Need to pick your genius brains. Top doesn't spark, stator and trigger looks good. Resistance tests are within range. Tried swapping coil packs still no spark on top. Could it be the "brain box" or maybe timing (haven't really tested timing yet). Got a sputter after switching coils and plugs but wouldn't run on top cyl. No. 2 runs and moves when hooked up properly. Just at about a quarter of the power. Oh model is 507x9c, hope that helps

Re: 50hp force no spark top cylinder

Welcome.
Outboard ignition . com or CDI Ignition.
Both have test procedures.
Sometimes the wires from the stator/ trigger.
The wires on the trigger are very thin and under the shrink wrap the connector breaks.
The same with the stator.
If I suspect there is a "short" I replace all the spade connectors.
The stbd. motor would start but miss. Then it would pick up and run right.
It sat for about 3 mo. Started it up and the miss wouldn't go away.
I started checking the trigger wires and the first one I touched came loose.

No tried to swap coil packs but still no fire on top cylinder. I did notice that on the original coil for no.1 there was resistance while on the no.2 there was continuity.
