Hi guys,

I have an 89 50hp Force and 2 years ago I put on a trim/tilt that I found on ebay. The thing worked great until this year when it started loosing pressure. I decided to rebuild it and ran into some trouble. When I open the working section of the pump, a few ball bearings and a spring fell out. Now I gotta try and figure out where they go. I took my best guess and then put the unit back together only to find that it did not work correct. I have attached two pictures, one is an overview of the type of tilt/trim I have and the other is a picture of the plate that holds the ball bearings. I circled in red where I thought the ball bearings go, but something is still not right. If anyone knows the location of the ball bearings and the spring I would appreciate some help. There are 4 ball bearings, 3 are the same size (about 1/8) and the 4th is about 1/16. The small one is easy, I believe it goes as it is pictured in the image. thanks

the ball bearings go into the other plate and the casting is lowered down onto it. there should be four bearings and the smallest one goes on top of the small spring. the tiny brass washer goes first and keeps the spring from digging into the aluminum gearplate, spring second, bearing third.

Hey RRitt I have a 1990 Force 120 and have the same problem. I think I might be missing a screw or something. Do you have a diagram of this? It appears to be the same valve body but mine has another ram so 2 more hydro lines.
