50hp mercury

Need to know year for this motor: #6539542 50hp mercury 4 cylinder. The year is not on the motor.<br />Are they good motors??

50 6448808 - 6586623 1984 <br /><br />50 (4 CYL.) 4 CYL. 1980-1985 5531630 and up USA <br /><br />I belive you have a 1984 model.<br /><br />Yes they are good. (What can I say )<br />A little thisty. Previous models had some rust problems in the propeller shaft area. Some on the water pump shaft too. If that goes for the 1984 models too I'm not totally sure of.
