My 50 horse Force has a tilt and trim that will leak down after 10 minutes or so. I checked the fluid with the motor down, and it's full. Is there
anything I can check or do before it goes to the shop.

Not really. It's all internal from from there. If the fluid is not foaming-up, than it has a leaky o-ring inside, and will have to go into a hydraulics shop for repair.
It it is foaming up, run it up and down a bunch of times until the oil is clear (air needs to be bled-out).
I wouldn't take it to an outboard shop, but a backhoe and equipment hydraulics shop, if you have one close by. The results are usually cheaper there, and they know hydraulics.

IF it has 2 cylinders you may want to try 30WT non detergent oil in it. The older forces/chrysler use oil not tilt/trim fluid.
