50's mercury mark 30 timing problems

Does any one know how to time a turbo-four mark 30 motor. I believe it's a 1959 motor. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they were done with a piston stop and a buzz box.<br /><br />You could substitute a dial indicator. The specs should be in your manual.
