I bought a 1953 7.5hp Fleetwin, 7512, at a thrift store this winter. I was told it ran, but I'm assuming I should tear it down some and look at the water pump and cylinders before I try to start it. I've looked quite a bit for a manual and have haven't found one so far. I can find manuals for old 7.5hp fleetwins but nothing that say's that year is covered.
Can anyone tell me where to find a manual and/or what other year manual will be sufficient for a 1953

PM me your email and I'll send you the parts manual. You need a service manual that covers Fleetwins prior to 1954. The 1954-1958 Fleetwins are different.

I got the parts list, Thanks.
Seams the major feat is going to be finding parts. Any thoughts on where a good source is.

Since most of those parts are obsolete the best places will be from the marine wreckers like Twin City Outboard or Laings. Someone from the US will have more info. I mostly buy parts motors locally or go to eBay if I'm in a rush.

The wearable parts are available usually but for the hard parts you'll need donor engines usually. Try aomci.org and look for local chapters and meets to buy / swap at.
