I have a '53 Seaking 5 hp and I need a service manual to get it up and running. I want to keep original parts.<br /> T. Lavary of Fort Worth please respond, lost your address. :(

Your motor was built by the Gale devision of OMC.<br /> Depending on the model number it may share parts<br />with E/J motors. If it has full shift it would be a clue.

SLewis,<br />I can share a photocopy of the owners manual with you, $15 including postage. That includes my own "Care and Feeding of the SeaKing" which I wrote about 51-54 seakings. I am at: tmcalavy@llano.net. Most important things on these engines are condition of gas tank (cruddy or clean?), does it have spark?, and condition of lower unit/grease and water pump (does it cool well?). You can tune one up top to bottom for about $60 and a Saturday afternoon. Good little motors. Made by Gale, OMC's generic mfg. division, for Montgomery Ward. Cousins are the Buccaneer, SeaBee, Atlas Royal, etc.
