I have a 55hp Chrysler,mod.#459 HE, ser.# 3323, 2 cyl. single carb, long shaft, on a '69 Chrysler 14'6" fiberglass boat, which would take a long shaft motor and it starts good, and runs good at idle, when i give it throttle, it picks up rpms good,so it seems, and the motor sounds like its running smooth..But i cant get enough speed to plane it out..actually, i cant get more than 4mph..Ive changed the prop, with a different pitched prop, which didnt make much difference. someone told me, it sounds like its not getting enough gas.. ive run it full throttle, and tried to squeeze the bulb, to see if theres any air in the line, but the bulb ispretty much hard..it doesnt act any different..but every once in a while, the motor will rev a lil faster, and itll get a lil more out of it,and stay that way, when i run it full throttle, but still nowhere enough . And sometimes the rpms run, smooth, then speeds up, then slows down, then speeds up again, till it runs smooth again at higher rpms.. Ive checked the filter, and its clean...and i have a new gas tank, bulb, and gaslines...Im stumped!! I hope this disciption, is understandable, cuz i cant understand this prob..lol..Any help would be greatly appreciated..

THANKS....DSE35
