Hi all its me again lol. I just had a de-carb question/maybe more. I was going to do the de-carb today not because of major issues just minor. It was suggested to me by another member on here it may be time to do the de-carb. I never did one before ever on anything and no idea if whoever had this motor before me did anything to it. The question is can I do the de-carb in a barrel or on muffs. I currently don't have a set of muffs but plenty of barrels. My main concern is the amount of smoke that is going to come out of it. I don't want to choke the motor out by it breathing too much of its exhaust and crazy amount of smoke. The concern with the muffs is the motor has only 1 water intake and if the muffs would provide enough water to not overheat the motor. Plus I would rather not have the motor sucking up the cap it blows out while doing the de-carb in a barrel. But if it will be okay to do it in the barrel I'm game for it because then I can get on it very shortly. I don't know if I left anything out else I wanted to ask (probably) but any insight will be much appreciated. Thanks

That motor is not really compatible with muffs. Barrel it is. And it WILL fog up the whole neighborhood and deposit a ton of crap on the water in the barrel. So don't ask. That's normal.

Lol kinda figured that. West marine sells rectangular shaped muffs but they don't look like I will get a good fit. I guess I will keep the hose running in the barrel to try to ad as much clean water as I can. Thanks
