I have 2 57 evinrude 35's, 1 electric start, 1 manual. The pull start mod.25028-06194 that I'm in the process of restoring, has a part that I can't I.D., that the electric start doesn't have. It is a round diaphram with a black plastic backing plate on the tiller side of the motor. There is a single vacuum line that leads back to the intake manifold, and 2 wires, 1 ground and 1 that leads to a small module at the end of the tiller handle gear. Can anybody give me more info. on this part. Thanks Brickster

Thats definately the part, any idea on how it works? Does it have anything to do with overrevving? Thanks for your quick reply, Brickster

Yes, it shuts down a cylinder to prevent a overreving condition. Works off of vacume. Take a look at the breakdown and notice the spring and diaphram, make sure they are ok.
