Hello all I have a 1991 Wellcraft Eclipse with a Volvo Penta 570A engine and have had an issue with it stalling while in the no wake zone of our local lake. When the boat is started and warmed up for a short period it runs like a top! After running for about 20-30 min at around 30 MPH up the river, we have to stop at the no wake zone before heading onto the lake. While going through the no wake zone, the engine began to chug a bit, and then eventually stalled out. I was barley able to get it restarted, only to have it die again when it was put into gear. It did this a couple of times before it wouldn't even start any more. I pulled the fuel filter to check for a clog or debris, but it looked clear. I had it towed back to the dock and went out with a couple of friends for the day to enjoy the sun. When returning to the boat it started right up like nothing was wrong. After dragging it home and letting it sit for a couple of days I threw the muffs on it and it started right up with no issues. I ran it at high RPM's and low RPM's for about 30 min and everything ran great. I put it in the water yesterday to give it another test run, and again it started and ran great. We ran it up and down the lake a couple of times, and throttled back to simulate a no wake zone, and again after a short time it began to chug and died. Again it didn't want to restart. So it seems that the problem only occurs when the engine is hot. Not really sure where to start with this thing.
