Can anyone out there tell me if a 1955 QD-16 10Hp power head will replace a 1959 Sportwin 10018 10Hp power head? From the pictures I've looked it, it looks like it will. I've also compared items on both parts lists and several items are in fact the same (ie, crankshaft, bypass covers). Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure it will. The '59 has a thermostat in the head, while the '55 does not. Although i don't have them to double check, I think the base gaskets are different as a result of the different cooling pattern. The '55 powerhead has the weaker rods, too, with the small wrist pin bearing...

I've compared online photo's this guy has of the QD-16 and the base of the powerhead looks exactly like the base of my 10018 powerhead. I need a powerhead, but don't necessarily need to rush it either.
