I recently purchased a 14' v-hull with a 1990 force 5hp 2 stroke. I took it out fishing yesterday and it ran for a bit and then slowly starting losing power and eventually quit. It died about 3-4 times on my way back into shore. When I got home I found that one of my fuel line clamps was loose. I replaced it with a new hose clamp, ran it in my water barrel and it ran great. Ran it at full throttle for almost a half hour with no problems. Took it up to the lake tonight and within 5 minutes it did the same thing. The bulb is not getting sucked dry. It has fresh fuel, and there are no leaks that I can see or hear. Any thoughts on what is wrong?

Is the fuel tank vented? This allows some intake air versus creating a vacuum and stopping fuel flow.

The fuel line connectors have seals in them.
They can dry and crack and allow air to be sucked in.
Replace the connector or the whole line.

Could it be overheating??
Same symptoms.
