I am rebuilding my starboard Bravo 1 off a 89 292SR1 Formula. Twin 454 Mags.
At the stage of setting the preload on the bearing pack of the upper pinion gear/ u-joint assy., the #11 service manual say to torque the nut to 6-10Lbs. inch.
Is that for real or a misprint??
You could almost do that with your fingers and nowhere later does the manual come back these components for a "Final" torquing. The external retainer nut gets 150Lbs Ft.
Just looking for confirmation from some of you experts.
Thanks.
