Curious about reactions to this. I've just started to see these listed by Ron Hill. I have a four blade of his that I like a lot, and I had a three blade that I loved. Sold it with a boat and I am still kicking myself.

Looks like a submarine prop LOL.

Seriously, I'd try it just for the hell of it and to see the looks I'd get at the ramp.

Six blades are usually used on v's and cats with high X dimensions. They provide a decent hole shot and good midrange performance but you lose a little top end b/c of greater drag. They are harder on lower units cause they load up pretty hard. Nice lookin prop d:).

That's gotta be a waterskier's wet dream if they make them in low pitches.

Re: 6 Blade Props?

I believe this one is a 21", so pretty steep for small stuff. In the area where Hill is popular, mostly V8s with Alphas and Bravos, although he is an OB, Mod VP type racer guy and doesn't use these. He offers a lot of racing props too.

I don't think I would run one as I am looking more for top speed and efficiency (just 'cuz) than hole shot. In fact I am finding hole shot to be less and less important as I pull tubers and wake boarders and don't need much to get them up compared to skiers. Although launching up and out is still fun 8)

BTW, I say "just cuz", because I can't see how prop efficiency could save me more than $2 a day unless it was waaaaaay off to begin with . . .
