Those numbers don't help. Look for a nickle-size unpainted freeze plug on the powerhead with numbers stamped on it. Some have model and serial and some only have serial #

If both the model plate and plug are missing, the motor is probably stolen. Crooks know to remove both.

You can go to "www.old-omc.de" without the quotation marks) for pictures of original sales brochurs and compare style and trim/decals till you find yours.

Thanks,

I'll check on the website you recommended. I bought this motor on ebay from a guy in California. Is there any way to tell if it is stolen? Does anyone know if a State like California would keep a list of such things?

Thanks,

Thanks again, the model and serial numbers were there on the freeze plug, just as you said.

If California lists stolen motors I will check it out.
