I have a 15ft 1969 Invader tri-haul.
The 60 hp motor on it is shot. I just purchased a 1980 6 hp motor. Would this motor pull us around as far as trolling/fishing? Please advise.

I would not use a 6hp as the primary motor on a 16-foot tri-hull. You'll end up burning up the motor trying to get around. Save the 6hp as an auxilary on the side and get a proper sized motor for main power. It's also likely that the boat is set up as a long-shaft transom, and the 6hp is likely a short shaft, so you wouldn't move much in any case...
- Scott

Mr Elway ;)

I've been there and done that in my 18 footer when the stripers were running and my main engine was down. Did fine on the 6 horse kicker until a storm came up and the kicker couldn't fight the wind to get me home. Had to drop anchor and wait it out. Thanking the boat gods for my cuddy cabin as the lightning flashed and the thunder boomed. Tightened up my life vest and wished my last will and testament was up to date. Think twice about that plan.
