6 hp Mercury foot problem

1997 6 hp Mercury has a small stream of brown oil mixed with water coming out drain hole on top of foot above cavitation plate. I cannot tell if it is just exhaust mixed with water and draining or it there is an oil leak from somewhere. There is no water in the lower unit oil reservoir. The motor runs fine and I noticed this oil stream when running gas out of engine with hose connection clamp over water intake.

those little engines used to get very plugged up with carbon in the exhaust area, after a good run they tend to trip the sludge out of that drain & out the thru prop exhaust.<br />Nothing to be concerned about until the day that you twist the trottle to WOT and find the poor little engine wont rev up because the exhaust tube is plugged solid.
