I just purchased a 1990 Bass Buggy Tracker pontoon with a 60 hp Johnson , ive had this boat only about 2 weeks, been on water twice and it ran sweet. Today i slip her in and idle about 100 yards to main channel then progressivly throttle up and for a bit everything was fine ,then a sputter then died. Cranked it back up and runs for minute then dies again. I could throttle it up when i tried to crank it but it would just rev up then die. I got it to idle and run just enough to get back to harbor (bout 200 yards) at the dock it would just fire up then die,....last time before i loaded it it would just turn over. This boat has JUST went through a carb cleaning dur to trash and ethynal gas,and it ran great last time out ,then a 6 days later this is what happens. I was wondering if it could be that i top it off with gas everytime out,as i did today and added seafoam gas treatment . could this be the problem?....it just acts like it is trashy gas or somthing cuz it ran back to harbot but i had to throttle way up and only got a fraction of the power i normally get,..like its bogged. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I would guess that the same crap that clogged the carb before just did it again. Are you running any kind of inline fuel filter, other than the one on the motor?
Anyway, at least check that you are getting spark using a timing light or spark tester first, before assuming it's the fuel delivery. Seafoam won't cause your motor to die.

Just a quick thought. Is the air vent screw on the fuel tank open? Sometimes that screw will slowly close due to vibration. I've hauled a boat in to find that the vent screw was closed.
