60 HP Johnson V4, What year is it ?????

I have an old Johnson or Evinrude 60 HP V4, the model # on it is VXL-13A, does anyone know what year this is?

Howdy, JDC.<br /><br />My book only goes to 1964, when they offered the VX-10, 60hp V4. <br /><br />If they added 1 to the model number each year (that is what they usually did) your engine would be a 1967 with a long (20") shaft.<br /><br />

Thank you JB, I appreciate your help. so the "L" in VXL must stand for the long shaft?

I can confirm it is a 1967. The "A" indicates first modification.
