1984 3 Cyl s/n 6463166. Starts, idles, and shifts into gear fine. About half the time the engine dies when throttle is advanced. By playing with the throttle, I can get the engine to full RPM. Once there, it runs fine until the throttle is retarded. The problem starts all over again.

Sounds to me like you have an electrical problem. Make sure all the cylinders are firing. If they are you might want to check to see if you have a gas problem. You might have something restricting the flow of gas. Check the primer bulb also. Good luck

probly not electrical.. try to choke the motor when its about to die, or spray some premixed gas in a squirt bottle into the carbs throats. if it runs better with either of those two its a fuel problem. clean carbs replace lines clean out tank etc.

oh and GOOD LUCK?
