gday all,
have a 60 yam 4 stroke carbie outboard. Did a search to no avail...
Outboard is a forward steer model with gauges etc etc but I have picked up a tiller complete for $50...
Tiller bolts up nicely and motor starts, stops, trim/tilt etc etc all good.
Two questions:
Is it possible to get the factory digital gauges operating on this engine in tiller format, tried plugging the factory harness in and got nothing on the gauges???
And second, in order to get trim/tilt on the tiller I have used the loom that connects to the trim/tilt switch at the port side engine cowl. Is it possible to tee into these lines and have both sets of controls??

thanks
steve

post the model number, the international motors are sometimes very different from the US versions, some of the later model F60 motors have a trolling speed switch on the tiller.
but if the motor as originally a remote control version having a tiller will only alter the method of shifting and throttle control and nothing electrical.

Relatively early model, no trolling speed switch.
I believe its a F60AETL-69WL
I get the feeling that the gauges are lacking ignition active power. Was hoping the forward control harness would bring this in???

thanks for the reply
Steve

thats a non US model so about all I feel comfortable with is basic 4 stroke operation, your assesment of lack of ign is most likly correct, if the motor was originally a remote control with electric start just use all the ign harness's and trim/alarm harness's and it will work again as the electronics dont care how its shifted nor throttled.
