my motor has decided to start introducing some gremlins into the system and i am jsut about after getting rid on them all except 1 has me stumped.
It'll idle all day long, but once underway and throttling up it'll bury itself and stumble around. Now when this happens bumping the choke and squeezing the fuel bulb doesn't make a bit of difference. Now the carbs have been off and gone through twice and new kits were added last year, even passageways done with wire.. Now i can confirm good spark using a spark gap tester and the vent is open and new fuel lines and filter.
This evening i drove to the slipway and left the boat on the trailer in the water. Again it starts fine ,idles fine , upto half throttle is fine , after that it bogs. Awaiting a new tach so don't know exact rpms. But while i had it at WOT ,choke or bulb made no difference so i'm ruling out fuel pump. I did a spark drop test (in water with pliers,is so not a good idea, but better than hanging off the stern with a spinning flywheel in my face) and when i pulled No.1 the rpms dropped, pulled no2. it stalled. Restarted it and then pulled no 3 and again stalled.
I am sure the carbs are clean and am going to swap 1+3 to prove thisi to myself... reeds are ok ....
that's the best info i can provide so if anyone thinks they have a solution or idea please feel free to help a poor, end of his tether, at wits end , thinking of burning this motor ,OMC fAN....
oh forgot to add that compresssion is 110-108-110
