I'm restoring my grandfather's 1961 Starcraft Jet. Anyone know where I can locate parts such as the rivetted Starcraft logo for the sides of the boat, chrome pieces, lights, etc.?

The windshield has a crack, would like to replace it.

The rubber bumper trim on the sides could be replaced also. Any ideas on where to get them?

Just had the original 1961 Evinrude tuned up. It's never been rebuilt, yet the dealer says it runs strong like a new engine!

TACO.com is a good source for rub rail. If you have a West Marine store or even i-boats where the list is.is a good supply outlet.

Re: '61 Starcraft Jet - looking for parts

Mketchie, I have a '61 that I've restored, and actually just brought it out today to "restore" it again! Got sick of the color, so I'm going to repaint. I have said Starcraft logos. PM me and we can discuss. I don't get on this forum very much at all anymore at all, but I'll tell ya, there is no better place and no better group of people here to help you out.

As far as the windshield, you just have to keep looking around. Mine was cracked, so I made a new one, but that didn't work out too well. I found one from an old Lyman and used that, but it was a bit small. I just got one from a Starcraft Arrow and it is just a bit big, but I'll make it work. Gaskets and mounting hardware are readily available.

I had my boat down to the bare aluminum, replaced EVERYTHING and it's a great boat.

As far as the chrome hardware, keep checking ebay. The stuff shows up every once in awhile.

Rick K. you say that windshield mounting hardware is available. Can you give me any information on where I can get this hardeware for a 64 14ft Starcraft Dart? the previous owner took it off 8 years in order to paint the boat, never happened but he lost the hardware so now I am looking for these items. Thanks, Allen

Riveted Starcraft logo is no longer available from starcraft.

But the rub rail is still available from starcraft (got mine last fall for my 64 Chieftan). You will have to order from a starcraft dealer and know how many feet you need.

Taco doesn't have the right configuration for the rub rail (been there).

The chrome end caps for the rub rail on the side of the hull no longer available from starcraft.

That should save you some time
