61 super seahorse

I have a 1960 Johnson Evinrude super seahorse 75 hp. The original main wiring harness had shorted out right near the plug. Somebody had tried to repair it but it looks pretty sketchy. Also, the harness is cracked. Any idea where I can purchase or have one repaired.

An option would be to direct wire, skipping the plug. At that age, I'd be suspicious of the integrity of the rest of the harness given what happened near the plug. Anywhere it's been flexing really.

Thanks for the input. The boat is a 61 StarCraft Safari spec boat. Funny how that works.... $350 for a new harness....same as I paid for the boat, motor, and trailer.

Price of parts has nothing to do with what you paid for the boat / motor.-----Old cheap boat verses someone's time and effort to make new replacement parts.
