Who knows if the impellar will pump water through the engine without the thermostat installed?

I removed the thermostat a few years ago but I'm now noticing no water is being discharged out the "tell tale" rear hole. The impellar is good but could it be because the thermostat is missing???

Something should come out of the rear exhaust if the water pump is pumping. And you should put the thermostat back in as the engine will run too cool without it. The part is there for a reason. If it didn't need it, they would not have mass produced it.

Removing the t stat will prevent the water from circulating, as well it will permanently damage your power head. The pisons and cylinder walls in your outboard will suffer. They are there for a reason, and if the bean counters could have left them out they would have.

Other causes of water not properly circulating are a faulty impeller, scored impeller housing, water restriction in the cooling circuit, or a blocked intake.

Sorry Steve I type slowwwww

I thought I explained that in your other thread.
