63 johnson 75 hp ignition

i need to put a new ignition switch on my 63 johnson 75 horse. i was just wondering if i can just use a new 6 terminal push to choke ignition switch or if i have to buy a special one due to the age. please let me know. thanks.

You would probably be better off getting the switch that is supposed to be used in that system.

You can use an aftermarket switch, provided it is the correct type for your ignition. Is that motor magneto or battery/coil?

The orginal PN for the switch is 378326, but has been changed to 386545. Should be able to find at local marina.
