64 9.5 fuel pump

Does anyone know if fuel pumps are interchangeable from the 64 to 69? I know they look different but are they going to function the same?

They should work fine. Im assuming you are going from the large one to the smaller one?

yes exactly right the larger one that is on there is shot and I can get the smaller one off a buddys parts motor for a lot cheaper Thanks!

The pictures I found of the older style and newer style look like they should work. I'd pull the one off your buddy's motor and compare where it mounts to the engine. Thats the important part, since thats where it gets its vacuum pulse from, but I found a few pumps of the old style with the same gasket as the newer style one so you should be all set.

As I said though, I'd double check the pump on your buddy's to yours and make sure it will work before you pay anything for it.

I worked on a '64 9.5hp last week and it had the small, square pump on it. Worked fine. Obviously not the original pump, but the 'newer' style that came later.. So you're good to go!
