I know it is the prop, because I changed it out .The other prop ran good.So i assume the rubber or brass bushing is slipping.A new prop is pricey so I was hoping there was a way to fix this one.

Hi Joe. Welcome to iboats. There are two things to check on your prop. The first is to see if it uses a brass "shear pin" which is designed to break/shear when the prop hits a submerged object in order to save the gears, or if it has a stainless steel "drive pin" which does not fail by design. Instead, the prop itself is fitted with a rubber hub which will fail in the event of a collision. While it's easy to simply swap out a new shear pin for one that has failed, re-hubbing is a job that requires special tool. Most boat repair shops offer the service for about $40. If you post the hp rating of your motor we can post a parts catalog for you too look up the piece(s) you need.

If your still running the original prop your better off getting a new Solas prop.
Your old prop is probably worn, yes they do wear, and likely old technology.
The solas will be the latest technology and of course new.
Something like $48 here at iboats.

I will do that sounds like good advise.By the time I locate the parts and install I would be better off with a new one .Thanks for your time and advise.

It would be nice to know how you make out so we can use it to help others.
If you use a tach for rpm and a gps for speed we may be able to help with your setup.
A induction tach is reasonable easy to install and can be used on almost any motor.
