Ran fine, minor cold-start troubles at times. Ran out of gas on the water one night, got tow to fuel dock and filled up. squeezed primer A few times and zoom! I'm off again. Half mile downriver, after going thru long 5-mile hr. zone it just died. I tried to start it and only managed to flood it out. A few times while crankng it, I got A couple "pops" out of it, and then I got A gunshot-like "POW"!, then nothing, and I mean nothing! starting fluid in the carbs. does'nt even get me A pop now. I checked 4 plugs for spark, seemed okay, some carbon-like build-up on plugs and they were pretty new too. Can someone please tell me what happened to my boat? I'm fairly new at this, BUT I LOVE IT! and I'm going crazy without my boat. I can hear the delta calling me. Please help me out hee fellas, I'd shor be gratful to ya! THANKS

I would do a compression check and also check and make sure you have vacuum at the carb air intakes.
Also get a manual and do a static timing check.

Hummmmm,
What kind of boat towed ya to the fuel dock?? (I had ta ask that).
Starting fluid (ether) is very bad juju for any engine, specially 2 stroks. Don' use.
Are you sure you've got good spark? After trying to start, are the plugs wet or dry?. If dry, no fuel. If wet, maybe flooded.
Check it out, lettus know.

c/6

Hooty
