'67 evinrude shift rod bushing

II'm going to assume that when driving out old shift rod bushing, I'm going to need to replace it .

Some will argue----But you can replace the o-ring without removing the bushing.----Or with the factory tool it can be driven out and re-used.

I'm confident I can get it out without mar'ing it, I destroyed the felt washer under the oring so the bushing has got to come out.

I'm assuming you pressed it back in with the threaded rod?

yes just tapped back in from the top but if you do not want to tap the bushing itself oo pul it "upwards"

try this method … but you need to open up the the bottom end of the lu
