This little boat is cramped with 2 of us and gear so i decided to pull the back to back seats and put a box the size of a bench base and 2 single swivel seats.Any other iboaters with some space saving ideas out there? Maybe an open crate or box on the bow? Wish i could get a bigger boat. I do have pics if you guys are interested. I work at a furniture factory but i didnt do anything fancy with the seat base i made.It is sturdy tho!

The seat box could be a little long for storage on the back side. If you feel like remaking them.
I could add more base but than i lose the floor space i gained by adding a smaller footprint.
If memory serves me correct.Didnt these little boats come with a small bench from the factory? Seems like ive seen some old pics when they were new but my brain likes to make stuff up some times ! lol

You did almost exactly what I did with my Nassau which a slightly smaller 16 footer.

Tossed the two rotted back-to-back seats and made a long box with two seats on top. The one difference is I used swivel mounts so the seats can face the front for driving or turned to face the rear.

Your box look tons better than mine. My paint is OK, but your finish is nice. I also split the top so either seat can be lifted to get inside.

I had an aluminum box about that size in my Kingfisher. I cut it in half which will allow me to have two separate seat boxes placed apart, giving me more room to move about.

And this is the layout I'll be using with the separated seat boxes in the center of the boat.

That is a great idea! I have a closed bow so i will probably just run the full box and see how it feels without the big seats.

Except for paint this should be it for the Jupiter this summer.Next is the Holiday.Needs a floor and engine cover and carb rebuild. Im thinking of making custom boxes for this one as well. Not sure what else i will do to it.The back to back seats out of my Jupiter are going in the Holiday.Might sell this boat and the Jupiter and buy a 16ft or bigger Aluminum bass boat. Not sure... I just love my old StarCrafts tho
