68 650 mercury with thunderbolt ignition no spark

I am doing as much research as possible but cannot narrow down why my engine does not start. It was fine for a day and a half and then would not start on the lake. Paddling is not fun. If anyone can offer a suggestion that would be great

Check to make sure the timing belt is not broken first, if that is ok, you can try cleaning the points.

Okay, thanks RCO. The timing belt is broken. I bought a new one. Is there a good website that I can check to set the timing correctly?
