I recently acquired a 40873D outboard. On the exhaust cover what am i missing on this open threaded fitting? I cant seem to find it listed on Marine Engine dot com. Thanks
There is a heat exchanger inside the exhaust cover to heat air drawn into the automatic choke, Air is drawn into the heat exchanger via that open hole, then out to the choke via the pipe above it.
