i am working on rewiring the engine harness on a 68'evinrude triumph, on the right side of the engine (when you are facing the prop) there is a round peice of rubber that is sucked in when the engine is started i believe it has to do with something for shifting there is a green wire and a red wire with a blue stripe on it where do they go to?

If you will post your e-mail address I will send you a schematic. The round piece of rubber thing is a vacuume switch and you are correct it is wired into the shift circut. I highly recomend that you get a manual to help you with work on this model. You may be able to find a copy at your public library. If not they only cost 30-40 bucks. That's cheep concidering it could save you from making a 3-4 hundred dollar mistake or worse.
