so I bought what i thought was a 25hp chry last week, well the 25hp chry was acually a 20hp it had a 25hp cover on a 20hp so I picked it up ($40) but the l/u was missing, I found a l/u on ebay and bought it for
($36). the motor has no tags on it at all but narrowed it down to a 1968 or
69 model 202hb, checked the impeller on l/u and looked new, replaced fluid in l/u, bolted l/u on motor and cleaned carb tonight going to get it running Wed night
so for under $100 bucks I should have a decent motor. still needs the cover fixed (missing latch) and give it a dupont overhall but should be out fishin' by the weekend....

I think I got a pretty sweet deal let me know whatcha think

will keep you guys posted on how it runs.

thanks for lookin'

Sounds like a good deal.

Quote: BUT: If this is an engine you have recently acquired, it has no history for you. Thus you should make plans to change to water pump impeller, lower unit oil, fuel pump diaphragm, and add a disposable fuel filter between the fuel pump and carbs soon--best before you seriously run it. Unqoute

got it fired up last night, runs like a champ, idles and shifts smooth, nice water flow, had to replace fuel lines someone used vacuum line for fuel lines and a new filter. getting anxious to get out on the lake but need to wait til ice out...
