Jesus must love me! I found this ole gal local for...wait for it....$400. Floors are kinda soft, made with osb. Would factory do that? Trailer included. Also the 1960 mercury 300 mentioned in another thread. I've been looking for original photos with no luck. Is this factory carpet/astro? I'm gonna have lots Q's. Here's some pics. Well, more pics later. Dang thing.

Re: '68 Starcraft SS 16'

Welcome to the Land of Tin, Duke. I saw her in the motor thread. She looks good on the outside!

OSB - No way. SC used plywood, marine I believe - But I won't swear to it. I think the factory floor covering would be vinyl, but the best way to find out is check out the brochures - http://forums.iboats.com/starcraft-boats/starcraft-brochures-349830.html And more pix. of course.

Not to bust any bubbles, but 1964 didn't have any SS models. She might be a little newer. SS arrived in '70 or '71.

Stick around and have some fun with her.

I can't get the picture to load but the riveted tag reads super sport-V, the serial # is 66 6303...Hmmm title reads, I just looked at the title. Gee Whiz, It's a 1968. Can/Will a Mod please change the year on my thread title?? Thanks for the link. I'm a bonehead.

Re: '64 Starcraft SS 16'

yeah, but change it to '66.....that's how they did the serial #s back when, first two digits are the year. titles are often wrong, esp on 50 yr old tin boats.

You can change it. Go to the first post, click EDIT, then GO ADVANCED, change the title and then SAVE.

When I said the SS originated in 70 or 71, I was going by the brochures. We have some holes.

It does look like it. I haven't had a chance to dig deeper. I'm also trying to get my 69 harley on the road.

Transom is rotted I suggest taking a long hard look at the knee brace underneath as well for cracks and such. The good news is doing a transom is about a 6 hour job less dry time.

Super nice bike.

Super nice bike.

+1 on that transom & further inspections (knee-brace, splashwell, etc.).

Don't feel bad if you can't complete the job in 6 SigSaurs...that translates to 36hrs for non-Sigs...which translates to 36weeks for BlueFin16's

She's my baby. Now she's got competition. lol. Transom....it's not bad at all. the pic shows paint peeling. I took a wire brush to it. Where someone drilled holes it's solid still. No rot.

Re: '68 Starcraft SS 16'

and honestly I joined the forum in 2008 in 6 years I have never read the statement I regret changing my transom. I have seen the pic everyone on the forum is going to agree its time to change the transom.

What does the transom wood look like under the splashwell and and up the sides under the SW tin?
