What kind of unit did you buy? Did you get an old vintage tilt only set up, a newer T&T, or a cnc aftermarket?

The factory power tilt/trim units from about 1973-1976 may fit on your engine. Not sure that the 69's have the holes drilled in the swivel bracket to accept the lift bracket. You may be able to layout the brackets and drill the holes. Could get to be quite involved if you have to take the midsection off the stern bracket assy. in order to drill the holes. A picture or better description of your unit would help.

Your engine use's seperate transom bracket's. If you are talking about a OMC tilt & trim it won't fit without changing the whole swivel bracket, and clamp assembly.
