Re: 69' 115hp evinrude
I have seen something like this before too..

Do you have the choke on Auto???

If you have a fuel blockage of some sort, the choke will richen the mixture enabling it to run in some instances, then when it gets warm and the choke goes off, the engine dies..

I'd check JB's suggestions first.. since you have a V4 and its unlikely that you have a blockage in both carbs... but definatly keep it in mind.. (by the same token, having one carb blocked takes out 2 cylinders, and thats probably enough to stop the motor..)

Next time it cuts out, immediatly check for spark, fuel etc.. the normal stuff..

but check your earths before all of this.. metal expands when it heats up and can sometimes cause problems with electrical connections..

JB, I don't think that engine has a telltale..
so test the engine by putting your hand on the head, count to five. if you haven't burned your hand, the engine isn't overheating. (serious)

let us know what you find...

regards

Frank
